"Bad Jews" at The Gamm Theatre

I’m making my AEA debut, at long last!

I’m very happy to announce that, beginning Tuesday February 7th, I will be rehearsing the role of “Liam” in The Gamm Theatre’s upcoming production of Bad Jews in Warwick, Rhode Island. Though I’m a native New Englander, I’ve never spent significant time either in Rhode Island or Warwick specifically, so this is an exciting new adventure.

Even more exciting is that I’ll be joining a cast as a member of Actor’s Equity for the first time in my career. I’ve wanted to become an Equity actor for the past ten years, ever since I was first admitted to the Equity Membership Candidate program way back in 2013 (at the Pearl Theatre Company, a classical-theatre troupe that doesn’t even exist anymore!).

Since that time, so many twists and turns have happened—I worked for a few years with non-Equity companies, barely missed out on a few big contracts, and, of course, lost the show that would have put me over the top due to Covid. But none of that matters now! I made it, and “better late than never” is definitely the motto of the day.

I’m excited about this show—I’ve had the pleasure of working with both the director and one of the other actors back in 2019 in Commonwealth Shakespeare Co.’s production of Cymbeline on Boston Common, so it will be a wonderful mix of new experiences and well-loved familiar faces.

You can find information about the show here. Let me know if you plan on attending, if you have any questions about the show, and especially if you have any recommendations for things to do in the Providence/Warwick area! It’s my New Year’s Resolution to make use of this blog more frequently, so stay tuned for further updates both personal and professional. Thanks for reading!
